Icons do not turn black after choosing a character.Instead, it simply displays the character names in the center of the blank boxes once they are selected. The rotating character models are absent.The character select screen is defaulted to the four-player setup featuring four display slots, regardless of how many human players are in the game.No "Loading." text appears during the loading screens.The TEST.STR video file is also entirely missing from the game. There is no unlockable Scrapbook menu option.Two, three and four-player options are always available, regardless of whether or not the controllers are plugged in.Consequently, the secret demo for Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! is not present either. Cheat codes weren't implemented yet, so holding L1 and R1 does not lock the inputs.The rolling demos and the intro cutscene are absent, so nothing will play when you are idle in the main menu.The outline around the thumbnail frames lacks transparency.The green outline around the menu borders has a stronger shade.In the final game, Circle and Triangle are also mapped for such actions. Only X and Square buttons are used to confirm and go back, respectively.Menu screens pop up instantly when switching around, rather than having a proper transition.No sound effects play in the menus, with the exception of the Enter Your Name screen.The trademark symbol next to the game's logo is missing.The trophy animation makes no sound effects, and Crash's model has bigger pupils and his eyes have a darker tone.The checkered flag is much darker and is positioned facing the screen.After this screen, the regular menu is immediately loaded. The fourth screen shows the CTR logo with the "Coming Soon!" message below.There is neither music, nor narration, nor the animated Naughty Dog box screen.The startup is incredibly basic, featuring splash screens with simple text accompanied by promotional renders - which is identical to the ones used in demo versions.Unused voice clips/dialogues present within the files.
